Eli and his favorite toys

Now that Eli can sit up, he can play with many more kinds of toys than before. Of course, he has a few favorite--his plastic cement truck, the block of shapes, his green stuffed alligator, and the books that are small and light enough for him to pick up, hold, and open by himself. The independent sitting has really made a difference in the way Eli plays and the way we play with him. We spend less energy situating him and more energy interacting with him. He has yet to figure out how to sit himself up if he happens to fall down, but we're working on it.

We're also getting him on all fours to get him used to having his arms and legs supporting him. He likes having his legs tucked under his body, but we're still working on the support with the arms, too. He can do one or the other, just not both together yet. Eli likes having his legs tucked under his body so much that he even sleeps that way!

Maria - Eli is such a cutie! It's been fun to watch him grow and change through the pictures on your blog. I hope you are continuing to enjoy the summer months and spending time together as a family.
