Our Life

The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family. ~Thomas Jefferson

More Milestones

In the past week or so, we've seen Eli make many changes, and just at a time when I thought the milestones would be less frequent. Boy was I wrong! The more Eli walks, the more confident he is on his feet and is able to stand without holding on to anyone or anything. His walk-behind Tonka truck was the best investment we've made because it provides hours and hours of entertainment. Here Eli is walking outside, showing off his skills to the neighborhood.

Another "aha moment" came when Eli started to want help feed himself. We were giving him some pieces of banana, and Eli reached out to help feed himself with the fork. Here he is helping himself to the banana pieces with his tiny, Eli-sized fork. Once we got the food on the fork, he was able to take over from there--pretty impressive!

On Wednesday we went to the doctor for our regular 9-month well-visit, and unfortunately Eli has a little ear infection which has left him a bit crabby and a little tired from the Tylenol we've been giving him (I also think he's getting some more teeth). Here he is asleep in his high chair during dinner.

Overall, though, Eli is a great baby and very happy to play, eat, and giggle. Seeing him grow and change and to see his personality shine through each day is tremendously rewarding and a constant reminder about what is good and important in life.
